Visit the Utah Capitol Building with Little Kids

Visit the Utah Capitol Building with Little Kids

There are a lot of fun places to take kids in Salt Lake City. I thought I'd share a recent low-key (and low crowds) outing I took the kids on recently because it was (A) free, (B) easy, (C) flexible re: time, and (D) was a great place to take photos. The Utah State Capitol Building is open to the public seven days a week (unless it's a holiday) and it's free to take a guided tour or simply walk around by yourself. I'd been a few times when I was younger but I hadn't taken the kids so they...

Our Night at the Discovery Gateway Bee-Day Bash

Our Night at the Discovery Gateway Bee-Day Bash

Disclaimer: We received a family pass to attend the Discovery Gateway 40th Bee-Day Bash so I could share our experience at the celebration with you. All the thoughts and opinions below are my own. We had the chance last weekend to play at the Discovery Gateway Children's Museum 40th Bee-Day Bash! Day Two: Our First Visit to Star Wars Galaxy's Edge

Our second day in the parks was the day that we decided to try to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. We had heard from friends that it was absolutely impossible to get a spot on the ride if you aren't in the park before the park opens so we figured using our extra magic morning meant that we'd have no problem getting a spot. OK, for anyone who hasn't taken a shot at this, let me break it down for you:/// Rise of the Resistance opened on January 17 at Disneyland and it's going to be very popular for a...

Disneyland 2020 Trip Report: Day One

Disneyland 2020 Trip Report: Day One

An old school Disney trip report! I feel like I'm time-traveling a million years back. Does anyone even care about these anymore? Whatever, I'm showing you all my photos and telling you every churro-filled detail.  Getting to California We flew into Anaheim early on Sunday but we didn't go to the parks that day so I'm not going to recap much there. I will say that we used The Parking Spot for the first time, which is a service I blogged about in late 2018. It's an airport parking service that isn't officially connected to the airport but one of...

Planning Our Disney Trip Using Planner Worksheets

Planning Our Disney Trip Using Planner Worksheets

We went to Disneyland! Our family hadn't been on a Disney vacation since 2015 and hadn't been to Disneyland since the year before that so we were seriously overdue for some pixie dust. I was also woefully behind on all the new stuff happening at Disney so when we decided to plan a January trip, I had to reacquaint myself with the parks. One of the most overwhelming things about doing Disney vacations these days is that I have to balance the Disney thing with the mom thing. So I have to be aware of the peak ride times, early...
